Christmas Parties at The Upton: Chaos, Cheer, and Community
Deck the halls, pour the pints, and brace yourself: it’s nearly Christmas party season at The Upton! If you think Santa’s one-night world tour is tough, try running a country pub in December. The only things flying here are the turkeys (see above for evidence) and, occasionally, the patience of our staff. 🎅🍗
We’ve even got our own big-bearded Santa—though he’s been known to channel his inner Barhumbug if provoked. Approach with mince pies and plenty of festive cheer for best results.
The Great Christmas Juggle
Let’s be honest: Christmas at The Upton is a bit like herding reindeer after they’ve discovered mulled wine. Our team of merry elves (also known as bar staff) work their Christmas socks off to keep the pints flowing, the roasts roasting, and the festive spirit at dangerously high levels. If you spot someone behind the bar with a slightly wild look in their eye, just give them a smile—and maybe a mince pie.
Looking After Our Guests (and Their Entourage)
We know the holidays are all about friends, family, and that one uncle who insists on singing “Fairytale of New York” at full volume. At The Upton, we pride ourselves on looking after everyone—whether you’re here for a quiet drink or a full-blown office party that threatens to become local legend. Our staff have mastered the art of pouring pints with one hand and offering life advice with the other. (You’re welcome.)
The Village Pub: The Beating Heart of Christmas
In a world where you can order dinner with a swipe and ghost your neighbours for years, the village pub still matters. The Upton isn’t just a place to eat, drink, and wear questionable jumpers—it’s where memories are made, friendships are forged, and the community comes together. We’re the unofficial Christmas HQ for Upton Cheyney and beyond, and we wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s a true pub family.
Let’s Have a Look at the Menus
Feeling peckish? We’ve got our posh Gourmet menu for those who want to impress, and our classic Christmas December menu for those who believe calories don’t count in December. (Spoiler: they don’t.) Check out all the festive details, drool a little, and start planning your order now—just don’t fight over the last roast potato. Let’s get you booked in before there’s no room at the Inn—cheers to crackers, turkey dinners, and Christmas spirit! Here’s the booking link, folks.
Christmas Drinks: Cheers to That!
Nothing says Christmas like a mug of mulled wine that’s hotter than your aunt’s dance moves at midnight. We’ve got all the festive warmers—mulled wine, spiced cider, and enough hot chocolate to keep the kids (and the big kids) buzzing until New Year. If you’re feeling fancy, our cocktail list is more dazzling than the fairy lights—think classics with a Christmas twist and a couple of concoctions we invented after a particularly enthusiastic staff party. (You’ve been warned!)
Important Things to Remember When Booking Your Christmas Party
Book Early: December dates fill up faster than Santa’s sleigh—reserve your spot soon to avoid disappointment.
Group Size: We can host parties big or small, but let us know your numbers early (and if you’re bringing that uncle who sings).
Menu Choices: Pre-ordering helps us keep things running smoothly—plus, it means no one misses out on their favourite festive dish.
Dietary Requirements: Please let us know about any allergies or special requests. We want everyone to enjoy the feast safely and happily.
Arrival Times: Arriving on time means more time for food, fun, and questionable cracker jokes.
Deposit & Confirmation: We may ask for a deposit to secure your booking—just a little Christmas insurance for both sides.
Festive Spirit: Bring your best jumpers, your cheeriest mood, and a healthy appetite for fun. We’ll handle the rest!
To the Chaos
So, here’s to the staff who keep smiling (mostly), the guests who keep coming back, and the magical mayhem that is a proper Christmas party at The Upton. Book your table, bring your best (or worst) jokes, and let’s make this festive season one to remember. Just don’t ask us to sing carols—we’re still recovering from last year.
Merry Christmas from all of us at The Upton! 🎄🍻
