Deck the halls, pour the pints, and brace yourself: it’s nearly Christmas party season at The Upton! If you think Santa’s one-night world tour is tough, try running a country pub in December. The only things flying here are the turkeys (see above for evidence) and, occasionally, the patience of our staff. 🎅🍗 

 

We’ve even got our own big-bearded Santa—though he’s been known to channel his inner Barhumbug if provoked. Approach with mince pies and plenty of festive cheer for best results.

Let’s be honest: Christmas at The Upton is a bit like herding reindeer after they’ve discovered mulled wine. Our team of merry elves (also known as bar staff) work their Christmas socks off to keep the pints flowing, the roasts roasting, and the festive spirit at dangerously high levels. If you spot someone behind the bar with a slightly wild look in their eye, just give them a smile—and maybe a mince pie.

We’ve got all the festive warmers—mulled wine, spiced cider, and enough hot chocolate to keep the kids (and the big kids) buzzing until New Year. If you’re feeling fancy, our cocktail list is more dazzling than the fairy lights—think classics with a Christmas twist and a couple of concoctions we invented after a particularly enthusiastic staff party.
